We comment full, on those early years
With so much laughter, so few tears,
When l was twelve, and you, just ten
l've loved you all the years since then.
For how could l, yet still a child
Fall for your charm, captive, beguiled
So full ensnared, with bonds divine
That freckled smile, first made you
mine.
There was a time, dark shadows loom
That sought to replace love, with gloom
Yet throughout stress of shifting sands
We walked on strong, still holding hands.
We hear of fools, with wife still true
Still look afar, for pastures new
l scorn their search for harlots bold
Why seek for gilt, when l have gold.
And still we lie, and laugh in bed
With lightning flashing overhead
Use no excuse, to reach, caress
And still entwined, in loves warm
breath.
